Mahsa Jeff

Mahsa Jeff is an Iranian-born mixed-media artist based in Oakville, Ontario. Her practice brings together colour, words, and architecture, exploring how stories take on new meanings across languages, places, and personal experiences.

With a background in architecture, she approaches composition through structure, rhythm, and negative space. Working with acrylic, handmade and Japanese papers, and fragments of book pages, she builds layered paintings and collages on canvas and modular wood panels.

Literature provides a starting point for her work. In series inspired by The Little Prince and Alice in Wonderland, passages and imagery are fragmented, concealed, and reassembled into abstract compositions shaped by memory, displacement, and discovery. Colour carries emotion, while paper and text invite closer looking.

Across her practice, from atmospheric paintings to geometric and tactile compositions, Mahsa explores the relationship between what we recognise and what remains open to interpretation.
